volunteering at CAW
Community Arts Workshop was actually set up as a
voluntary organisation back in 1998. If it were not for the hard
work and dedication of the original volunteers who set up the
project, we would not be here today.
Volunteering at CAW is all about getting stuck in to whatever
activities it means to make community arts accessible and work for
everyone in the community. You need a sense of humour and an
interest in our work to get the most out of us, in turn there are
many benefits to volunteering with us:
- Completely informal unique environment: We operate out of the
Community Gallery, with studio and film suites and an open public
office.
- Training and Development: We provide in house training in
specific art areas and have access to many more in the arts field,
as well as access to training in non- art based areas such as
computer courses and management training.
- Access to a Community Network: By volunteering at CAW, you will
be part of a wider community network of other community and
voluntary groups in the Leamington and surrounding area who provide
a wealth of expertise, opportunities and experience in the field of
voluntary and community work.
- C.V. Stardom: By volunteering at CAW you will have worthwhile
and participative experience that can enhance and develop your
existing skills and abilities making for a better C.V. Many of our
volunteers go on to paid work in the voluntary and community sector
in the area, all because of the experience and skills they have
gained with us.
There are many volunteering opportunities at CAW from Project based
activity such as painting community murals to editing films, to
helping us with managing our finances and co-ordinating meetings.
There have even been volunteers who have helped us co-ordinate
volunteers!
Whatever your interest, if you feel that you would like to learn
more about art, community or development work, and would like to
put something back into the community or help others, then please
call Francis Godwin on 01926 888333.

| CAW
aims to positively support
members of the community who as a result of poverty, disability,
