Outside In: a National arts competition
Surgery Day at CAW
Wednesday 28th March 2012
11:00am to 5:00pm
In October 2012 Pallant House Gallery will present the Outside In: National - a unique arts competition for artists who feel excluded from the art world for a variety of reasons which may include health, disability or social circumstance. Artists can create their own online gallery and submit work for free from now until 20th July 2012. Selected works will then be showcased in a major exhibition from 27th October 2012 – 3rd February 2013 in the main gallery spaces at Pallant House Gallery.
Entry to the competition is free and is open to artists across the United Kingdom. The closing date for submissions is 20th July 2012 via the Outside In website: www.outsidein.org.uk. From the Outside In: National, six award winners will be chosen who will have the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at the studio in Pallant House Gallery.
'Surgery Days' are being held around the Country to help people set up their online gallery and submit their artwork for the competition.
On Wednesday 28th March 2012 there is a Surgery Day at the Community Arts Workshop (Old Gallery) from 11am to 5pm. We can sign you up for your online gallery, photograph & upload your artwork, and help you write your artist statement.
Please book your 45 minute one-to-one session in advance by phoning CAW on 01926 8883333 or sending an email to mail@communityartsworkshop.org.
You need to bring up to 5 pieces of work to be photographed, but please select one that you want to submit as your entry to the competition. Give each piece of work a name, and take its measurements in cm. You may also like to start work on your artist statement.
