Stop-Motion Animation Projects

Have you or your organisation ever wanted to engage young people in producing their very own animated films? The Community Arts Workshop (CAW) is offering youth groups and organisations across Warwickshire the opportunity to produce their own version of Wallace and Gromit by producing a series of stop-motion animated productions.

CAW have been delivering award-winning participative stop-motion animation workshops across Warwickshire for almost 10 years: click on the images in the column to the left to view the outputs of some past projects.

We would like to invite youth groups and organisations to look at a new fund called 'Arts on our Doorstep'. This new scheme is a partnership project between Live & Local, Warwickshire's County Arts Service, Rugby Borough Council and Warwick District Council and aims to provide practical advice and support alongside resources up to the value of £5,000 to help local groups and individuals to organise exciting and innovative small arts projects within their community.

With advice and support from Warwickshire's County Arts Service, you could apply for funding to work with CAW in delivering animation projects ranging from one-day taster sessions to six-week workshops. During these projects participants learn the skills to be able to write a script, produce storyboards, model their own plastiscene characters, build sets, direct, animate, record voice-overs and sound effects and edit a short animated film…all under the guidance of professional stop-motion animators.

This fun, practical and hands-on approach to producing animated films, creates the perfect environment in which to offer a lasting and valued creative learning experience; it allows the opportunity to explore issue-based creative working within groups and helps to develop deeper confidence in using new technologies and expressing personal and creative ideas.
