CAW filmmakers win UNICEF UK Youth Award |
A project by the video group of CAW has beaten other national and international groups to gain the young filmmakers award in a competition organised by Film4Lives (an initiative of the NSPCC) and UNICEF UK. 'Sticks & Stones' is a participative led documentary film based on the themes and issues surrounding youth violence. Produced with a group of young people who have straddled the line of both victim and perpetrator, it offers an enlightening insight into a growing epidemic, which by and large, excludes the voices and opinions of young people themselves. Through frank, open and honest interviews and personal testimonies with people directly affected by youth violence 'Sticks & Stones' proves to be a compelling tool in which to piece together the foundations to inspire and invoke dialogue realting to the causes of and solutions to an issue of pressing social concern. 'Sticks & Stones' was produced by CAW and made with young people
from the Warwickshire Pupil Reintegration Unit, Connexions Coventry & Warwickshire, and
the Prince's Trust. |
