An update
Hi everyone, welcome to the CAW website.
We're currently in the process of building a brand new website, but in the meantime
here's some information about current projects.
Contrary to popular belief CAW still has occupancy of the Old Art Gallery. It seems that there is currently no development potential for the site, so we need to investigate
the possibilities for regional funding to purchase the building.
From 5th September to 27th September it was used for 'Beauty in the Disregarded', organised by Coventry-based artist Lorsen Camps.
Lorsen and five other artists showed work in tune with the theme. Clearly there is also a reference here to the actual Gallery itself.
Following that the 'Open Up!' exhibition of creative work by people with experience
of 'mental health problems'. 'Open Up!' ran from 10th October (World
Mental Health Day) until 31st October. Throughout the month Francis Godwin and volunteers ran
twice weekly workshops in the Gallery helping people to draw, paint and record their aspirations and wishes for our community.
